Valerie Vierk


Valerie Vierk began employment at UNK in 1984. She was a student from 1969-1971 and upon returning in 1984 she resumed her coursework on a part-time basis. Valerie has worked for four departments at UNK and joined Geography as a half time secretary in July 2003. She is a member and past treasurer of the Nebraska Writer Guild and enjoys writing fiction and non-fiction. She now serves as president of Hollyjean's Hope Cat Spaying of Ravenna, Nebraska. She is also a member of Bluebirds Across Nebraska and serves as Buffalo County Coordinator for this project, providing nesting boxes for the bluebirds. Valerie is a native Nebraskan who enjoys capturing the beauties of nature with her camera.
