Why Major in Psychology?
As you consider a major in psychology, please consider that a commitment in this field has the potential to enrich your life and enlarge your vision. Some of the most important of life's significant questions are illuminated by the field of psychology. Psychologists have gained insights into the brain and thought processes.  Psychology provides us with a rich understanding of social influence, learning, human intelligence, the roots of personality, the effects of stress on health and a myriad of other topics. Even the many unanswered questions can enrich us, by renewing our sense of curiosity about those things we have yet to understand. Perhaps most importantly, psychology can enable you to think critically about competing ideas with regard to the human condition.

Well, all that's fine and dandy, you say, but what do I do with this degree in psychology? For instance, can I get a job? Yes, you can. At this point, let us just say that there are all sorts of jobs for bright individuals who know how to analyze, communicate, get along with people, and are willing to learn. All of these are skills which are cultivated in a psychology program.
