Campus Kitchens Project

You may not be ready to change the world (yet), but you certainly can make one small corner of the world a lot better off. As a Campus Kitchen Project (CKP) volunteer, you can help ensure that low-income, disabled, or otherwise food-insecure people in Kearney have enough to eat. If you like to get out and meet people, you can deliver meals to the homes of CKP’s clients, and spend a little time visiting with them. If you prefer to work behind the scenes, you can cook, teach food safety and culinary skills to others, or take on administrative challenges like organizing volunteers, fundraising, and educating the public on the pressing problem of hunger in our community. In whatever capacity you serve, you will develop leadership skills while fighting a real and confounding social problem. UNK’s Campus Kitchen Project is one of dozens of Campus Kitchens operating in colleges and universities across the country.
