About the Music - Piano Performance with Pedagogy Emphasis Degree Program

On Campus

The Music Performance - Piano with Pedagogy Emphasis degree program is designed for students dedicated to achieving excellence in their piano performance, as well as pursuing national certification as a private piano teacher.

At UNK, an experienced faculty will help you develop a high level of skill through the practical application of music theory, performance and teaching techniques, private instruction and recital opportunities.

This program leads to a Bachelor of Music in Performance. Because of the nature of this professional objective, students entering this program must demonstrate outstanding musical ability in piano.

Practical experience is essential in the study of both music and teaching. Throughout your time at UNK, you will have the opportunity to study piano performance with outstanding musicians, appear frequently in both group student recitals as well as full-length junior and senior recitals and pursue a teaching internship, ensuring graduates leave the program with real teaching experience.
