Heidi Farrell

Biography

Heidi Farrell is an active oboe instructor and performer.  She received her Bachelor’s of Music Degree at the University of Iowa and her Master’s of Music from “Hanns Eisler” Conservatory of Music in Berlin, Germany.  She has recently become principal oboist of the Kearney Symphony and Hastings Symphony Orchestras upon a recent move to Kearney in July, 2014.  She had previously served as principal oboist of the Sioux City Symphony for several years.  Ms. Farrell has played with such ensembles as Brulé, Cirque de la Symphonie, and Mannheim Steamroller.  Each summer, she and her husband serve on the faculty of the International Music Camp, where Ms. Farrell teaches oboe and woodwind chamber music.   Other notable instructing positions have included teaching oboe and woodwind chamber music at Dordt College, North Dakota State University and University of South Dakota.  Ms. Farrell and her husband, Tim Farrell, have four children.
