Programs in the UNK Management Department meet the employment needs of businesses and industries as well as the needs and interests of students who plan to pursue careers in a variety of professional areas.
As a UNK management student, your education is comprehensive and current...designed to prepare you for the changing global economy of the future. You will complete 45 hours of General Studies designed to provide a broad liberal arts background. In addition, you will complete a series of supporting and core courses in business, economics, and mathematics. Upon completion of these core courses, you will follow the course of study for your chosen degree program.
Students will find that the friendly atmosphere of the UNK campus and community is reflected in the Department of Management Faculty are prepared to give students time and guidance to help them reach their full potential. To attain that end, the department has 9 full-time, highly qualified faculty to provide advice to students.
Tuition and fees at UNK are affordable, and Financial Aid is available through the UNK Foundation, the UNK Admissions Office, and the College of Business and Technology. Excellent part-time job opportunities exist both on and off campus in this friendly Midwestern community.
Students have the opportunity to work with other students, as well as learn about cultures that are different from their own. UNK has students from every county in Nebraska, 32 states, and 48 foreign countries.
The department and the students work closely with Career Services to receive career counseling. Resources for employment opportunities are extensive. Career Services not only helps in the identification of career opportunities, but also helps in the job search process. Students prepare for the job search by using "NEWS", a computer job search program that identifies job opportunities by city, company, and job title. Students may also attend workshops in resume writing, interviewing techniques, and etiquette seminars, all in preparation for the employers who are actively recruiting on and off campus.
After you earn your undergraduate degree at UNK, many students pursue a graduate degree. The College of Business and Technology offers a Master of Business Administration graduate program.
