  • Citation formatting in WorldCat

Looking for help formatting citations? WorldCat provides citations for individual works in many styles (APA, Chicago, Harvard, MLA and Turabian). Go to WorldCat from the library home page, point your mouse to “Collections/Catalog,” then click on WorldCat. Search for the work (e.g., title for a book, musical score, Web site). When you find your target, click on it. On the “WorldCat Detailed Record“screen, click on the Cite This Item link (it is in the “External Resources” area). On the “Citation Styles” page, copy and paste the appropriate style.

  • Reserving library computer labs

Librarians use library computer labs for instruction in the use of library resources.  Labs may also be reserved by faculty for one or two sessions to facilitate the research process for a course.  Each lab has 23 computers and an instructor’s station. To reserve either the main floor or lower level lab contact Dr. Ron Wirtz, Coordinator of Library Services, phone: 8592 or e-mail: wirtzrl@unk.edu.

  • “Advanced Keyword Search” in online catalog

The “Advanced Keyword Search” option in the online catalog is available from the “keyword” search screen: <http://rosi.unk.edu/search> This option allows input of up to four search terms/phrases and options for fields that will be searched.  Searches may also be limited by location in the library, material type, language, and year of publication.  Results may then be sorted by relevance, date or title.  Use the “advanced keyword search” for more precise search results.

  • Library coffee shop

Take advantage of the Library’s coffee shop located by the Circulation Desk.  Visit with students in a comfortable setting, buy a cup of coffee or a snack, check e-mail, or view news on the flat screen television.  A special feature is a rotating display of art work from MONA.  The coffee shop is open all hours that the Library is open.
