SUGGESTION: Why can't the library actually get copiers that work! This is one of the few places for us students to go make copies, and if it isn't down, it always has a paper jam. Also, what the heck is up with the 30 cents a copy color printer? Jeez, most people use the 5 cent copier and there is usually a line to use it so can't the library get another one of the 5 cent copiers?
REPLY: I apologize for the problem with the black and white copier. We have been troubleshooting the problem with this copier and the issue is in the process of being resolved. I am aware that not having a copier is an extreme inconvenience and hope to have a resolution by the end of this week.
The color copies cost us 27.5 cents each plus the paper. We rounded the amount to 30 cents to cover the costs. The color copier does provide free scanning which you can email to yourself or save to a flash drive.
Again, we are sorry for the current situation and are working toward a resolution.

SUGGESTION: Handwashing will slow down the spread of the flu, right? How about some hot water in the Library restrooms to make it more effective?
REPLY: I have sent your suggestion along to the Director of Campus Facilities and he indicated that his staff will be checking into this. Please feel free to also use the hand sanitizer available in numerous locations in the building. Thank you.

SUGGESTION: I absolutely do not like this new style. I can't use jstor or find it as easy and the old way was so much simpler please redo this. What is the fastest way to get there. REPLY: Thank you for taking time to send a comment. Here is the quickest way to have access to JSTOR:
Bookmark and use this direct link: http://0-www.jstor.org.rosi.unk.edu/ Or:
On the Library main page, select "Research Tools," then "Databases and E-Resources." In the "Alphabetical List" select the letter "J." JSTOR is the first resource to appear. Select "JSTOR" in the "Connect to Resource" line.

SUGGESTION: I despise this new online system. I am unable to search by category and can't figure out how to put limitations such as "Linked PDF only" on my searches. I end up receiving hits to articles that aren't relevant, or are more than 20 years outdated. I don't understand what was wrong with the setup of the old site. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the first complaint you've received. If that's the case it's due largely to the fact that I'm one of the few people who isn't afraid to confront authority when the make mistakes.
REPLY: The Library homepage has undergone several enhancements over the past month to facilitate easier access to library resources and services. The most significant change has been to the menu groupings which appear in the top left corner of the homepage. This menu has been restructured into four "core" grouping -- Research Tools, Services, About the Library, and Ask Us 24/7. This accomplished two things:
1. It allowed for the consolidation of all library databases and "virtual resources" to be accessed from a single point of access - now labeled "Databases & E-Resources" within the Research Tools heading.
2. These four "core" menu groups are now also displayed on all Library-maintained webpages, providing easier access to other sections of the library website.
Other new features, such as an RSS feed for In Brief Online and links to an Enhanced Catalog interface have also been recently introduced. The Library's Web Committee will be conducting additional surveys and usability testing during the 2009-2010 academic year to ensure that online access to library resources and services remains easily available.
Thank you very much for your comments. I want to encourage you to please contact a librarian at the Reference Desk for assistance, or schedule an appointment with Jon Ritterbush, chair of the Library's web committee, or with your subject library liaison for an in-depth consultation.

SUGGESTION: It would be helpful if the pop machine would have the empty selections marked before you put your money in. It only lights up and tells you it is empty, after you put in your money and try to select the item. REPLY: Your suggestion will be forwarded to the campus office working with the soft drinks vendor. Thanks for pointing this out.
