Recreation Outdoor And Event Management Comprehensive

The Recreation, Outdoor and Event Management program is designed to prepare students for careers in organizations that plan programs, activities and events, and manage natural resources, parks and recreation facilities.  The four specialization options include:

Recreation Management – for students interested in working with activities and events, such as youth and adult sports leagues, community events, aquatics, arts and crafts, and cultural programs.

Event Management – for students interested in planning special events, both indoors and outdoors (community celebrations, conferences, sporting events, parades and weddings.)

Natural Resource Management – for students interested in managing parks, camps and natural areas, as well as visitors to those areas

Outdoor Pursuits – for students interested in the multitude of outdoor activities–traditional (hunting and fishing), as well as the more modern adventure activities (rock climbing, kayaking, etc.)

Holly Green

Holly Green, has worked at Fort Kearny State Historical Park and Recreation Area since 2013. She has taught youths and other groups about conservation and the state’s ecosystems, plants and animals through the naturalist program. The Grand Island native said she’s an “outdoors person” who wants to share that passion with others.
