About the Recreation Management Degree Program

On Campus

The Recreation Management degree is designed to prepare students for careers in organizations that plan programs, activities and events, and manage recreation facilities or outdoor areas.

This major is for ideal for students interested in working with activities and events such as youth and adult sports leagues, community events, aquatics, arts and crafts, cultural programs, special event planning, community celebrations, conferences and more.

The KSS faculty believe in a hands-on learning approach, with an internship program playing a critical role in making sure that students graduate with practical field experience. A minor is required in this program, insuring a well-rounded skill set.
