Scholarships

The Honors Program has two scholarship deadlines: November 15 and February 1.

Omaha World Herald/Kearney Hub Scholarship

Applicants with an ACT of 30 or higher, and a high school grade point average of at least 3.85, are eligible to apply for the Omaha World Herald/Kearney Hub scholarship. This is UNK’s most prestigious scholarship, which pays tuition, books, room, board, and university fees for four years. This application must be submitted by November 15.

Other Honors Program Scholarships

Applicants with an ACT of 27 or higher, and a grade point average of at least 3.75, will be considered for other Honors scholarships if they apply to the Honors Program by February 1.

For both deadlines, the process is the same. The first step is to apply and be admitted to UNK. Then the student should complete the application to the Honors program. This application (along with a letter of reference) constitutes your scholarship application. In the case of the Omaha World Herald/Kearney Hub scholarship, UNK will invite a small number of finalists to campus for interviews (typically the first week of December).
