Fall Orientation Get-Together: On the Saturday before fall classes begin, incoming Honors freshmen gather to meet and greet, and also to meet current Honors students
Freshmen Convocation: In the second week of September, Honors freshmen come together for a brief overview of Honors information. Speakers who answer questions include the Director of Financial Aid, the Dean of the Graduate/Undergraduate Research, the members of the Honors Student Advisory Board, and the Honors Directors.
Annual Honors Spring Banquet: Traditionally held in late April, the Annual Honors Spring Banquet is a celebration of the upcoming graduation and successful completion of the Honors program of Honors seniors and the presentation of their Honors Medallion, Certificate of Honors Requirements completion; the successful completion of the Honors freshmen's first year; and the continued success of the Honors sophomores and juniors. 2-4 Honors seniors give Senior Responses as the keynote speakers.
Honors Student Advisory Board Activities: Throughout each semester the Honors Student Advisory Board (HSAB) plan and coordinate a variety of social activities such as Movie Nights, Poker/Pitch Tournaments, Flour Bashes (you have to attend to find out what this is!), and more. HSAB also plan and coordinate community service activities such as a Reading Rendezvous with Kearney area third-graders, as well as a Math Day for elementary students. Another community service opportunity is a day spent at the Kearney Children's Museum, where UNK Honors students can teach and learn with kids.
