Student Projects

Students in Dr. Turman's HIST 464: Introduction to Public History and Dr. Wells's HIST 468: Digital History spent Saturday, April 8 in Dannebrog, Nebraska. They co-sponsored the History Department's fourth History Harvest along with the Dannebrog Festival Committee. A community founded by Danish settlers in 1871, the town enjoys the support of an active historical community that preserves and protects historic resources and sponsors annual heritage festivals. Students digitized and gathered data for over four hundred artifacts, including scrapbooks, medical furnishings, clothing and textiles, tools, and photographs.

Dr. Wells' Digital History students worked with SketchFab to recreate the UNK Administration Building.

Dr. Jinny Turman's HIST 465: Community History and Preservation students partnered with Main Street Kearney to conduct a History Harvest.
