James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation

The James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation was established in 1986 with the goal of improving instruction of the United States Constitution in secondary classrooms. Recipients of the fellowship receive funding to pursue a master's degree. One requirement of the fellowship is to complete at least 12 semester hours of coursework in constitutional study, 6 of which are completed though the Foundation's Summer Institute on the Constitution in Washington, D.C.

In addition to accepting transfer credit from coursework completed with the Foundation's Summer Institute, the UNK History MA program offers the courses on Constitutional History and Constitutional Rights that fulfill the remaining 6 hours.

More information on the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation and requirements for applying can be found on the Foundation's website.
