Submit Your IRB Application
Before a research project using human subjects can be initiated it must first be reviewed and approved by the IRB.
All research conducted by
faculty, students, staff or others on the premises of the University of
Nebraska at Kearney as well as research conducted elsewhere by any
representative of the University of Nebraska at Kearney should complete the
application form.
Be sure to complete the entire application and include all supplemental
materials. Submission of
incomplete proposals may result in delay of the review and approval
process.
The How to Apply in Ten Easy Steps guidelines help ensure that your
research is in compliance with federal and university regulations concerning
the protection of human subject.
The materials submitted to the IRB must provide sufficient information
for the reviewers to ensure that criteria to approve your project are met. These Tips for Submission will help
you prepare your application. The Common Problems with IRB Applications explains the 10 problems most commonly
encountered
in applications submitted for full-board review. In each case, a recommended solution follows
the description of the problem. If
you continue to have questions after reading these materials, contact the IRB.
Complete the appropriate application form available through the Forms drop-down menu at the top of the web page. For protocols requiring full-board review, applications must be received by the IRB no later than 5:00 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month.
