Reaching Out to Students on their Phones (a UDL Tale)

How can we make small, concrete changes to help increase student persistence, retention, and satisfaction? To help make educational materials and practices inclusive for all learners, this interactive session radically reflects on how to motivate and inspire faculty members to adopt Universal Design for Learning: broaden the focus away from learners with disabilities and toward a larger ease-of-use/general-access diversity framework.

Ensuring Academic Integrity across Campus and Online

This session 1) addresses the different concerns—and definitions—of “originality” across the units of the higher-education institution; 2) provides a framework for identifying various types of academic-integrity strategies, and for matching those strategies to the needs of instructors, departments, and institutions; and 3) offers examples of each academic-integrity technique, best practices for each, and practical implementation tips.
