Blackboard Collaborate

Blackboard Collaborate is an online program that allows instructors to interact with students by talking, listening, drawing and writing. It allows faculty to use a virtual classroom to broadcast live lectures, hold online meetings, and arrange various teaching/learning activities such as office hours, tutoring, team projects, guest speakers, etc.

Blackboard Collaborate Features:

  • Shared whiteboard for instructors and students to show PowerPoint, draw diagrams or display images
  • Shared screen to demonstrate computer programs or web sites to each other
  • Create sessions to be accessed both synchronously and asynchronously to enhance learning at a distance

Instructors will be able to incorporate Collaborate into their classes to create virtual classrooms, offices and meeting spaces that open more possibilities to more students, wherever they are. Offering exciting new approaches to learning while involving each student on an individual levelan audio/video component and synchronous/asynchronous communication for languages and speech classes.
