Music Education

The Department of Music & Performing Arts offers its graduate music program to serve three main purposes: 1. Provide music courses for teachers who seek a Master of Arts in Education—Music Education degree program; 2. Make available a variety of courses for those students who do not wish to pursue an advanced degree; and 3. Provide experiences for graduate students which will serve their cultural and professional needs. At least one Music course will be available each Fall and Spring semester with three to four music courses offered each Summer.  Several non-Music courses are available each Fall, Spring and Summer.  These courses will all be offered within a 3-year period.  This degree does not grant certification to teach music in K-12 schools.
