Prerequisites: Teacher Certification in any discipline (Initial teaching certification may be obtained through this program with the completion of additional courses.)
  


The Mild/Moderate 7-12 Endorsement is designed for teachers who do not presently have an endorsement in Special Education in the state of Nebraska. Students pursuing certification in other states must check with their State Department of Education for certification requirements. Courses are offered at the graduate level. Courses are offered online at the graduate level.

 NK’s College of Education online graduate programs have earned "Honor Roll" recognition in U.S. News and World Report’s national rankings. To earn national Honor Roll status in the U.S. News ranking program, online graduate education programs had to place among the top 30 percent in three out of four categories. UNK ranked in the top 30 percent in all four categories.

TESE 879P - Developing Social & Personal Skills in Individuals with Disabilities

Academic Concentration (18 credit hours)
Students need to complete coursework in one of the following academic areas:  Language Arts, Math, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Business Education, Art, Music, Health, Physical Education and K-6 Special Education.

1) Submit copies of all past transcripts with a letter of intent to Jennifer Jansky, KASE Office, COE C128, UNK, Kearney, NE 68849.
2) Apply for admission online at http://myblue.unk.edu as a non-degree seeking student.
3) Once you’ve received an acceptance of admission notification, you may register for class by accessing UNK’s MyBlue registration system at http://myblue.unk.edu.
4) After you have registered, click on http://www.unk.edu/acad/continuing_ed/students/index.php?id=6214 to get started with your online course.
