The information technology track is designed for individuals who are interested in the computer science aspect of instructional technology. The track focuses on information technology teaching methodologies, programming techniques, and system administration skills. This track will provide a strong foundation for individuals who are working in the information technology areas related to schools, multimedia, web design specialists, and for individuals interested in more of a technology focus area of instruction. It is also designed for business professionals who train or support end users.For certified teachers, this track will lead to a supplemental endorsement in Information Technology, which allows recipients to teach programming and web design courses in K-12 schools. For non-teachers, this track does not lead to the initial teaching certificate but it does allow for flexibility in course selection and inclusion of additional computer science and information technology courses.
 
All the classes taken for the Information Technology track apply towards the Master of Science in Education in Instructional Technology degree.
