Prerequisites: Must hold a Master's Degree in related education field and an administrative certificate.

The Education Specialist is an advanced degree for those who already hold a Master’s degree. The Specialist degree prepares current administrators for the role of school superintendent. The coursework is offered online while the Field Study and Internship courses are completed with experienced school administrators serving as mentors. This 33-credit hour program meets the requirements for the Nebraska Professional Administrative and Supervisory Certificate, preparing candidates for superintendent positions in all public and parochial schools in Nebraska. Students pursuing certification in other states must check with their State Department of Education for certification requirements. The UNK Educational Administration Department has established itself as a leader in the successful delivery of the Education Specialist Degree.
