Since 1948, Buckle has been providing a place for young men and women with an interest in clothing, to dress, accessorize, and express themselves
through their style! It has also been a place that has provided many people a rewarding, and fulfilling career. Now, through the “Buckle Excellence Scholarship Fund”, Buckle is providing a new kind of opportunity for young men and women headed to college at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Each year, one freshman majoring in Computer Science or Information Technology will be selected to receive a two year scholarship, in the amount of $3,000 per year! Candidates hoping to receive the scholarship
must fill out the application, obtain letters of recommendation, and;
~Be pursuing a major in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems
~Be an incoming freshman
~Be in the top twenty percent(20%) of their high school graduating class
~Have a minimum ACT (or SAT equivalent) composite score of 26 (with at least a
24 in Math)
The scholarship recipients are also provided with unique opportunities to build relationships with Buckle IT professionals through activities such as job shadowing, tours of the Buckle facilities, and presentations on-site. Buckle also has a student internship program for upper-level CSIS students and has hired numerous CSIS graduates over the years. Buckle also offers its employees for classroom presentations and student project reviews.

NorthWestern Energy
is providing a $1000 per year scholarship for a CSIS student at UNK. This scholarship will help support an upper-level CSIS
student who maintains at least a 3.0 GPA.
First preference is for a CSIS student from the Alda, Kearney, Grand Island, or North Platte communities in Nebraska. Second preference is for any CSIS student from Buffalo, Hall, or Lincoln counties in Nebraska, then third preference is for any CSIS student who meets the other criteria.
Recipients of this scholarship shall be majoring in Business, Mathematics, Computer Science or Management Information Systems. They must have graduated from a Buffalo County High School.
Established to help support students of UNK in the College of Business or Business-related area, i.e. Mathematics, Computer Science, etc. Recipients must be a high school graduate of Buffalo County or an adjacent county with a 3.0 or above GPA.
The recipient of this scholarship shall be a member of the ACM organization at UNK. Candidate shall have a 3.0 or above GPA and have completed 14 credit hours in computer science.
