Background
I graduated from Wayne State College, Pittsburg State University and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I have worked for commercial and non-commercial television stations and I was a research assistant at a public relations agency in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I started teaching studio and field production at UNK in 1987 in the broadcasting program.
Philosophy
Ask any student who has been in one of my classes- I have very high expectations and I am proud of having that standard. I believe that this approach benefits undergraduates in that they learn to not be satisfied with mediocrity in their own work or their colleagues'. They learn what is expected of professionals and they produce materials that befit a university graduate.

I enjoy many aspects of my job, but mostly I enjoy being around students. Where else can you talk with lots of young people who are full of energy, ideas and enthusiasm? I would have to say that I have probably learned as much from UNK communication students as they have learned from me.

Classes
Mass Media in America, Television Production, Mass Media Research, Advanced Television Directing, Television Workshop, Writing for the Media, Broadcast Advertising, Public Relations, Broadcast Programming, Introduction to Advertising, Electronic Cinematography, Mass Media Research.
