The Antelope

Faculty Advisor: Terri Diffenderfer  

The Antelope newspaper is the campus newspaper published by the students in the Department of Communication. It is an opporturnity for students to gain experience in basic newspaper production.

Students have the opportunity during their career at UNK to be a managing editor, advertising manager, entertainment editor, photo editor, web manager, news editor, sports editor, layout editor, magazine editor, special assignments manager and/or circulation manager.
 

The On-line Antelope

The On-line Antelope is a combination of print and broadcast student productions. Students have the opportunity during their career at UNK to be the Webmaster or student-apprentice.

KLPR Radio

Faculty Advisor: Elle Scholwin

KLPR 91.1FM is a fully functional FM radio station, completely managed by UNK Communication students.

With a newly remodeled studio, and the addition of webstreaming capabilities, KLPR-FM offers the latest in digital radio technology. Student DJs can choose their own formats from modern rock to jazz and blues to classical.

Ad-PR Club

Faculty Advisor: Christina Jackson

The Ad/Pr Club is a local affiliate of the American Advertising Federation (AAF). It promotes better understanding of the mutual functions of advertising and public relations, encourages professionalism and networking with professionals, helps develop the individual communication skills of members, and promotes fellowship.

Members host speakers, coordinate seminars, attend career days, enjoy field trips, do community service projects, and participate in national competitions sponsored by the AAF.


SIMM

Faculty Advisor: Dr. Nanette Hogg 

Students in Mass Media (SIMM) is an honorary organization for journalism/mass communication and multimedia students.

Its purpose is to provide students with networking and out-of-class educational opportunities through speakers, workshops and field trips. SIMM also provides service to the community, the university and the department through philanthropy and other activities.Visit SIMM's web site.


Lambda Pi Eta

Faculty Advisor: Dr. Aaron Dimock

Lambda Pi Eta is a student organization which recognizes, fosters and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement in the field of communication.

Lambda Pi Eta provides students with the opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas, to promote professional development among communication majors and to establish and maintain close relationships.
