Joan D. Lewis, (SPED/Gifted Professor)
Preparing young minds for a lifetime of learning

I am a professor of Teacher Education and the Graduate Program Chair
for the department.
My specialty is the education of gifted learners and I am the gifted education
specialist for the University of Nebraska. The gifted endorsement and Master's
are available through UNK with the cooperation and assistance of UNO and UNL.
My two top goals are:
1) to ensure that every teacher who is responsible for the education of gifted
learners is endorsed in gifted education and
2) to ensure that all students receive instruction in
their zone of proximal development regardless of what level that might be.
