ECU Initial Certification Online Degree
With the ECU Initial Certification Graduates will be able to teach children ages 0-5 in special education settings and ages 0-8 in regular education settings.
This program is offered in lieu of a second Bachelor’s degree. This endorsement prepares graduates to teach children ages 0-5 in special education settings and ages 0-8 in regular education settings.
A degree audit will examine the courses you have already completed toward the Initial Certification program and will determine how many of the program's 80 hours will be needed to complete the certification requirements.
What are the prerequisites?
- The prerequisites for the online Early Childhood Unified Initial Certification is a completed Bachelors Degree in any field.
What support will I receive?
- UNK provides advising support for all students prior to transferring.
- UNK works closely with the T.E.A.C.H early childhood scholarship program participants to provide support and information in order meet T.E.A.C.H. scholarship requirements
- Students enrolled in the UNK program will receive advising and mentoring support throughout:
- The course transfer process.
- Admission to UNK
- Admission to Teacher Education
- Completion of coursework
- Field experience
- Student teaching or practicum.
- Students have access to online video tutorials to orient them on how to take online courses.
