Praxis Information

The Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators Tests are a program requirement for initial certification in Nebraska.  Additionally, the Nebraska Department of Education requires the Praxis Subject Assessment (sometimes referred to as a content test or Praxis II) for certification. In September, 2019, ETS redesigned the Praxis Core Math test.  The new test numbers are:

  • 5713 Reading; passing score is 156
  • 5723 Writing; passing score is 162
  • 5733 Math; passing score is 150
  • 5752 Combined (Reading & Writing & Math)

On September 1, 2014, the Praxis I PPST exams were replaced with the Praxis Core. If you have passed the Praxis I PPST, you are not required to take the Praxis Core.
