A UNK education is as much about big opportunities as it is about a big variety of opportunities to choose from. As a diverse community of intellectuals we recognize that different scholars have different needs, and that some answers can only be found across intellectual boundaries and geographical borders. This is why we offer a variety of special programs to complement our traditional offerings.
Some of these special programs, like the First Year Program, are designed to ensure that your transition to UNK—and to university life in general—is as smooth as we can make it. Others, like the Honors Program, Ethnic Studies Program or the Women’s and Gender Studies Program, are intended to eliminate all the walls that stand in the way of your academic interests and potential. Still others, such as the programs offered through the International Offices and the Office of Multicultural Affairs are designed to add new, and global, dimensions to your UNK experience.
