Learning Commons Leadership Council (LCLC)
The Learning Commons Leadership Council (LCLC) commenced in Fall 2011 to ensure deliberate partnership between the Calvin T. Ryan Library and Learning Commons programs. Current members of the LCLC include:
- Taffnee Faimon, Assistant Director of the Learning Commons and Writing Center
- Keri Pearson, Tutoring and Assessment Specialist
- Jon Ritterbush, Electronic Resources Librarian
- Ronald Wirtz, Coordinator of User Services and Instruction
In one of its first collaborations, the LCLC presented a historical summary of the UNK Learning Commons’ development, philosophy, and implementation at two conferences in Fall 2011: the National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA) conference and the Nebraska Library Association/ Nebraska Educational Media Association (NLA/NEMA) conference. Additionally, the LCLC has worked together in the following endeavors:
- Development of the UNK Learning Commons Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
- Space designation for Online Peer Tutoring
- Referral process for the Writing Center and Library reference services
