Interpretation and Recommendations:
The Department will continue to refine and create assessment procedures to promote continuous program renewal. Assessment in the past has been used to revise curriculum, create/revise specific courses and to enhance program requirements. In addition, the strategic planning will be served by the information generated by this process.
- During the Fall Semester, 2004, study of the Application for Candidacy process and data will be extended and expanded. There is a desire to provide this information to each student in the form of a mid-program report related to the student's progress and effectiveness in the program.
- We will continue to consider and refine each of the assessment rubrics.
- We will reconsider the relevance of the following assessment plan components: Research and National Certification because these items do not available across all programs.
- We will consider the relevancy of assessing student outcomes at the end of the program. Currently, the Comprehensive Exams, the Capstone Experience (Internship) and the Graduate Follow-Up Survey all provide data at the completion of the student's program.
