Women's Studies Program Senior Seminar Paper Checklist (Replaced F05)

Each senior seminar research paper will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:

  • (5) Superior
  • (4) Very good
  • (3) Good
  • (2) Fair
  • (1) Poor
  • (0) Unable to assess/NA
5   4   3   2   1   0    Breadth of Knowledge: demonstrates a knowledge about women, including their psychology, roles, experiences, history, and contributions to society.
5   4   3   2   1   0    Cultural Assumptions: is able to critically examine cultural assumptions about gender, race, class, sexuality, and other issues of gender identity.
5   4   3   2   1   0    Sufficiency of Source Material: is able to analyze the gender assumptions in the traditional methodologies, theories, and research of particular disciplines.
5   4   3   2   1   0    Communication Skills: shows competence in writing, including responses to and analyses of literary and other cultural texts.
5   4   3   2   1   0    Analysis of Source Material: uses Women's Studies methodologies and tools.
