Students who complete the Bachelors of Social Work at UNK will possess the professional preparation for generalist entry-level social work practice. They will be empowered with relevant theoretical foundation, strong social work values and ethics, and a wide range of practice skills aimed at providing culturally competent services to individuals, families, groups, and communities within a variety of roles and settings. Students will also be prepared for graduate studies, evaluation of social programs, and leadership roles at a local, state, or national level.
- Students will receive the theoretical foundation, practice skills, as well as values and ethics needed for entry-level generalist social work practice.
- Students will demonstrate integration of social work knowledge, practice skills, and ethics through their interaction in the field placement setting.
- Students will show mastery of the following skills appropriate for entry-level practitioners: communication skills, case work skills, ability to use supervision, compliance with social work ethics, and use of community resources.
- Students will conduct themselves in accordance with the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics.
