Students graduating from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a degree administered by the Accounting and Finance Department will demonstrate knowledge, skills, and values associated with an educated citizenry, including:
- a working knowledge of the accounting or finance discipline.
- a working knowledge base in the functional areas of business.
- the ability to integrate concepts of other business disciplines with accounting and finance.

Based on the mission statement, the department has further established a number of specific learning objectives and has determined a variety of direct and indirect measures to assess the department's success in achieving those objectives.
