Student Assessment Committee Meeting
Meeting of February 14, 2008 Minutes
Present: Students: Jessy Hansen, Bethany Hyatt, April Becker, Sarah Chu, Tim Davis, Russell Crawford
Faculty: Sarah von Schrader
Absent: Students: Heath Dooley
Hansen called the meeting to order at 1:00pm in Room 2111 in Founders Hall.
Old Business:
- The committee discussed the poster dissemination from Fall semester. Hansen reported that posters were put up in the Residents Halls along with the Student Union. Hansen shared the large printed poster created by Tim Davis. The committee discussed and decided to hang this poster in the Student Union.
- The committee discussed meeting times. It was decided the meeting time would remain the same: second Thursday of the month at 2:00pm in Room 2111 in Founders Hall.
- The committee discussed the possibility of someone attending the Great Plains Conference in Emporia, KS on March 14. Sarah Chu shared interest in attending the conference. It was decided that more information was needed on the deadline for application for the conference. Hansen indicated that she would gather more information.
New Business
- The committee discussed the development of the Spring 08 student survey. It was determined that a student survey of instructional practices and preferences would be developed. The committee looked over several similar surveys and discussed questions for the survey. It was decided that the survey would be about 30 questions long and should take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. Hansen indicated that she would put together the survey and send it out to the committee to look over and provide feedback. It was decided that the survey will be finalized at the next meeting and then sent out to students following the return from Spring Break.
