UNK’s Writing Intensive (WI) requirement will improve students’ writing abilities both within and across disciplines, so that graduates of UNK will distinguish themselves as literate participants in their professions and in society.
- Students completing the WI requirement will be able to communicate effectively in writing in a variety of situations at the University and in their roles as citizens.
- Students completing the WI requirement will be able to write as professionals in their discipline through the most appropriate form – essays, position papers, term papers, abstracts of articles, book reviews, reports or journals, etc.
- In their writing, students completing the WI requirement will be able to demonstrate the capability of critical thinking, reasoning and analyzing.
