Coherence of program and relevance for gifted learners is essential.All components must be consistent with district definition.

  1. Philosophy and Rationale (10 pts)
    1. Original or revised district philosophy of education for gifted and talented learners is provided (5 pts)
      1. Extension of your beliefs about appropriate education for all learners
      2. Must focus on gifted and talented population
      3. Explanation of any difference from personal views is included
       
    2. Rationale for services (5 pts)
      1. Minimum of 5 reasons based on student characteristics why these learners need differentiated services in bulleted format
       
     
  2. Definition of Giftedness (10 pts)
    1. Original or revised district definition of gifted and talented learners is provided
      1. Explained reason(s)
       
    2. Services not covering all types of giftedness in definition are explained
     
  3. Goals (10 pts)
    1. Minimum of 2 cognitive, 2 affective, and 1 multicultural goal for program in terms of program outcomes
     
  4. Curriculum/Program Model(s) (10 pts)
    1. Model(s) or components of 1 or more models used to structure services are briefly explained 
    2. Rationale for choice(s) is provided
