None of the Honors Senior Studies were found to be “not proficient” in any of the four categories of objectives; 10 categories were marked as “proficient,” mainly in categories 1, 2, or 4; and by far the highest mark of “exemplary”, at 27, mainly in categories 1, 3, and 4, displays clearly that our Honors Senior Studies are, for the most part, fulfilling what we hope they are doing for the students in terms of learning outcomes.  It is evident that the objectives as outlined in the mission of the Honors Program are being fulfilled.  It is evident that the collaborative efforts of both students and faculty result in good research and better understanding of the ideas in each respective discipline.  In most cases of internship, notably in the colleges of Business and Technology and Education, the experiential learning opportunities provide Honors students with the kind of experience they not only need to succeed post-UNK, but that they also crave as students.

Student commentary to survey questions also bear out these fulfilled objectives.  These surveys are mainly exit surveys completed by graduating seniors.  Positive responses and positive personal commentary far outweigh the occasional negative comment (and even most of these are constructively critical, rather than negatively critical).  Of course this data will continue to provide us with information to improve the entire assessment procedure, and is data we plan to share with administration, faculty, and Honors students (the latter mainly via the Honors web page).  Per some of the recommendations from the previous data gathered in 2003 and 2004, some of these have been met, and some remain to be improved upon.
