Submitted Fall, 2005
During the 2004-2005 academic year, eight students were enrolled in the Graduate Music program. Four students graduated from the program. Both direct and indirect measures were used in collecting assessment data on these graduates. The number of graduates last year did not provide sufficient data for analysis and recommendations. We will continue to collect data on all students and when the number of graduates reaches a sufficient number--10-12 students--to analyze and make recommendations, we will submit this portion of the assessment report.
In 2005, two changes were made to the Assessment Measures: 1) Under Direct Measures, Entrance Requirements were included to provide base line data for comparative assessment of teaching and/or conducting skills at entrance and exit levels and 2) Collection of data for The Final Interview was not completed. This Direct Measure has been eliminated as the Final Comprehensive Exam, along with the Classroom Teaching/Conducting Evaluations appear to provide enough data for graduate faculty final evaluation of degree candidates.
