Evidence of Need
The BGS program was primarily develped for non-traditional students and is a compilation of credit hours, within an approved structure, of coursework in the Humanities, Arts, Natural and Social Sciences. Recently there has been growth in the number of students seeking this program.
Justification if the program is below CCPE thresholds
The BGS program requires no specialized courses or faculty time beyond what is offered for the traditional academic programs. UNK is in the early stages of developing a collaborative online BGS program with UNO. Initially the students would be UNO students, but UNK would see increased enrollments, and ultimately may see an increase in the number of BGS students and graduates.
