Faculty position in Management/Grant writer for College.
Responsible Persons:
Brief descriptive narrative, including accomplishments and goals:Teaches courses in Management. Researches and helps develop opportunities for funding and outreach involvement for the College of Business and Technology. Ms. Murray taught 146 students during the academic year. She also submitted 3 grant proposals during this academic year and arranged for and supported 3 presentations for faculty and/or students. The latter included the Nebraska State Director of Banking and Finance, the Agricultural economist for Wells Fargo, and representatives from Colorado and Wyoming related to rural economic development initiatives under consideration by UNK. Ms. Murray also attended special meetings related to external funding opportunities and issues, and she has initiated contacts with other individuals and enterprises to develop partnerships with the college.

External Funding: Submitted three external proposals. 1 funded at $250,000.
Students benefiting: approximately 500 per academic year.
Local, regional, and state benefits:
Established Mentoring for Success Program to mentor female students majoring in business and technology.
Established a focus on Economic Gardening at UNK and Kearney region.
Member of Buffalo County Technology Committee. Identifies and coordinates external seminar speakers and classroom lecturers on Economic Development.
