Minutes of the Meeting of the Deans Council

PRESENT: Finnie Murray, Bruce Forster, Marilyn Hadley, Larry Hardesty, Frank Harrold, and William Jurma

- Dave Anderson RE Tenure Buy-out & Health Care Costs: Dave distributed information on Retiree Health Insurance Costs to the Deans.
- Gail Zeller RE FAME (Faculty & Administrator Modules in Higher Education): Gail provided the Deans Council with information on the FAME Program. FAME provides faculty and administrators with tools and training in accommodating college students with disabilities. They encourage variation from the “standard” method of presentation of information. She asked the Deans to recruit at least one faculty per college to participate in the program. SrVCAASL Murray volunteered to participate. He suggested that Gloria Vavricka be contacted regarding the web accessible module.
- Promotion and Tenure Guidelines: Deans’ Council is interested in updating and clarifying the Rank and Tenure Guidelines. The Council began to review Section I: Introduction of the Rank & Tenure Guidelines: Evaluation, Rank, Tenure and Personnel Files.
There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting of the Deans will be on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 9 a.m. in the Warner Conference Room.
