by the State Department of Education in School Counseling and School Psychology. The Department also offers a program in College Student Life.
The family and the school are the arenas where we do most of our work Graduates of these programs are working successfully in a wide range of important
settings, such as: elementary and secondary schools, educational service units, college counseling centers, college Student Life, private counseling agencies,
drug and alcohol treatment facilities, vocational rehabilitation services, mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals and churches.
The Department promotes a field based practitioner model of training. Interaction and consultation with practicing professionals and direct work with an
outstanding faculty are the focus of these educational experiences. Our success is related to three significant strengths: our students--we attract outstanding
graduate students; our faculty--we are a nine-person department, offering a wide range of interest and expertise; our mission--involves working together to
become even more effective at being useful to our clientele.
The School Psychology program is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologist (NASP) and the Community Counseling Program is accredited by
the Counsel for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
