President Hank Bounds, Ph.D., along with the chancellor of each University of Nebraska institution recently partnered to create a video that explained what diversity and inclusion can do for our campuses.
“We’re stronger when we live and work and study alongside people who don’t look like us, don’t think like us and don’t come from the same place as us,” Bounds said. “Each of us has a different story and we can each learn something from each other.”
“An inclusive university recruits and retains students, faculty and staff from a variety of backgrounds,” Chancellor Doug Kristensen, J.D., added, “We have to make sure everyone on our campus community feels included and has the support they need to succeed. Diversity is not only the right thing to do, it’s the smart thing to do.”
