The Student Court is the supreme court of the student body. The court consists of seven associate justices, a chief justice and a secretary. The president nominates justices to sit on the court, who are then confirmed by the Senate. The court's responsibilities include hearing appeals for parking tickets; determining the constitutionality of actions taken by the Senate or the president and his/her administrations; settling constitutional disputes among students, organizations, etc.; ruling on student violations of University regulations/policy; and to perform any other duties concerning student litigation.
The Court meets at 4:00 p.m. every Tuesday* in the Conference Room (142A) of the Nebraskan Student Union. These meetings are private; but, you are welcome to attend if your case is being heard by the court. (*The Court will only meet when classes are in session during the Fall and Spring semesters, and will not meet during finals week.)
